Delightful Dunedin - Enjoy True Florida Life
by Bob Lipply
One of the oldest towns on Florida's west coast, Dunedin has
a small town feel with many big city amenities. It’s a
delightful city that features four picturesque miles of
shoreline, beautiful wooded areas, and a wealth of popular
attractions and activities to please any tastes in recreation.
The subtropical climate makes the city an ideal home for anyone
who enjoys warm weather, sunshine and friendly faces. If you’re
in the market for a new Florida home, Dunedin real estate is
priced right and offers everything you want in Florida living.
Dunedin is located in Pinellas County about midway up the
west coast of the Florida coastline. Its beaches and sheltered
coves have consistently ranked in the state’s top ten beaches,
with golden sands, sparkling water and average summer
temperatures in the low 90s. While Dunedin is a picturesque
vacation destination – especially with its evocatively named
Honeymoon Island State Park just off shore – Dunedin is much
more than just a "nice place to visit". There are many excellent
reasons to relocate to Dunedin, and the time has never been
better.
Why Dunedin?
Dunedin is a wonderful combination of small city charm and
big city convenience. The city is a great place to raise a
family, with excellent schools and a youth-focused civic
program. The value that the community places on youth and
families is evident in the Points of Pride program maintained
and funded by the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce to highlight the
schools, students and teachers of Dunedin.
But if you think that the strong family orientation in
Dunedin means that there's nothing to do in town for adults,
you'd be very mistaken. Dunedin offers a wide range of housing
options, from condominiums to luxury villas on the beach. The
city government includes a large and active leisure services
division that sponsors regular activities for all, and operates
four recreation facilities targeting various age groups. There
are also community sponsored teams in soccer, baseball, hockey
and softball for both adults and youth. The area is ideal for
outdoors enthusiasts, featuring biking and hiking trails, public
beaches and one of the best marinas in the state.
To sweeten the pot, the Florida real estate boom that had
fueled spiraling prices in Pinellas County over the last five
years has leveled, and home prices are better than ever. Local
Dunedin real estate agents have a wide variety of properties for
sale in every price range. Now is the time to buy in Dunedin,
before both interest rates and housing prices start to rise
again.
